We have started the work in person here in Guadalupe. However, COVID continues to slow things down. We have opened up our MiCasita Christian Preschool to in-person learning! The kids are back! It is wonderful to hear the sound of the kids in Preschool. Our initial focus is on behaviors - how to be with, play with and interact with other children in a learning environment. That is always the first lesson - the children need to learn how to learn. After that comes ABCS, numbers, colors, etc. We also want to welcome Destiny Rodriquez to MiCasita as a part time teacher! We still have not opened up our after school tutoring. Parents are not sending their children to after school activities, out of fear of COVID. Further, schools are not giving homework, which was a major focus at our after school program. We continue to pray that the COVID threat decreases and that children / parents have increased motivation for the tutoring, If this happens, we will open up in a month or two. Meanwhile, our focus is on Preschool.
