Fantastic Fund Raiser in Guadalupe
Thank you for all your support. We had over 300 people in Guadalupe Friday night Oct 24, 2016. They enjoyed a home cooked meal, cooked by the families of the kids in our tutoring programs. Thank you to Miss Marina for organizing all the friends and families of the children to cook the food. Thanks also to Paco – for providing his DJ talents for the night and for donating another 4 hours of his DJ time as a raffle prize. Thanks to the town of Guadalupe for providing the space and most of all thank you to everyone that came out to support the kids and hear about what was happening in Guadalupe.
The kids are serving the food. Everyone enjoyed the evening.
People checked out our tutoring spaces, where we have about 50 kids participating. Natividad Mendoza our partner “Gangs to Jobs” was there as well.
If you missed the chance, you can still contribute. You can sponsor a child or simply give a donation.
This will let us expand and strengthen the work. We have a great need to expand our space but cannot until we increase our money to cover the rent.
The community is helping cover some of the costs but they cannot cover everything. We are looking for 40$ / month per child – this covers full year of tutoring / summer program and will give them job training in the future if needed. We are working on adding more – college help, community resources for parents, etc. And the sponsorship will help bring this all closer to reality.
