This Fall marks a big change for the work in Guadalupe and one we ask you to pray for in the coming months. Yes, we are planning on having Fall MiCasita Preschool session as well as our after school tutoring sessions. However, the big news is we are working on growing MiCasita from just a preschool into a Preschool through K and 1st grade elementary school. This is a big step and we need your support and prayers.
This summer we had a wonderful summer session. We had 26 kids in our 5 week long summer session. Each week we did a field trip were the parents joined the children to make it a community event. Further, to help build community that was damaged during COVID, we got everyone of the 26 children back to school clothes and supplies to start school this Fall.
Our long term desire has always been to grow MiCasita Christian Montessori from just a preschool into a full elementary school. Based on discussions with parents, we think there is support in the community for this next step. So, while we will start MiCasita as a preschool in our current space, we are starting the work to grow it. This will require us to get bigger space suitable for a school nearby Guadalupe as well as to set up the infrastructure for the school. The plan is to start in Fall 2023. So there is much work to do.
We thank all you that made it possible to have a summer program and to give the kids school supplies. And we would ask that you consider giving a donation to the work this year to support the growth of MiCasita. . We are a qualified non profit for the Arizona state Tax Credit and we are working toward getting a new space so we can grow the preschool into a preschool / elementary school! Please keep this in your prayers as well.
