We pray this new year find you all doing well. In Guadalupe we are still distraught with all the funerals and hospitalizations from COVID. However, we are starting to look forward to the end of this outbreak as vaccinations have started in Guadalupe.
With this new tool against the pandemic, we have started to look forward. We continue to support our Preschool kids in the home delivery of lessons / material/ coaching - delivered through their parents. We have had one student join in this semester. We also continue to open our space for kids doing school remotely.
One new thing has been to reach out to our older preschoolers - his now in K - Third grade. Doing school remotely has been very trying on these students - the learning we see in the last year via remote school is far below the normal quality. These kids are struggling with remote learning. So we are starting to work with some of our older preschoolers and their parents with at-home help with school work.
Looking forward, our big concern is the learning gap growth so many of our children in Guadalupe have seen over the last year of COVID remote school. Our prayer is to gather this summer to begin to help the kids bridge this gap. We are also very hopeful (and prayerful) that our full in person programs will start in the fall.
So we ask you to pray. And this is also the time of year for the Arizona Tax Credit. AZNT / Guadalupe is a qualified non profit for the AZ tax credit. You can give until April 15 and still apply to your 2020 AZ state income tax (get the credit). Please see below box for more details. If you still have not taken advantage of the AZ Tax Credit (400$ for an individual and $800 for a family) there is still time. Please see the below link to donate. Or send a donation to 4702 E Monte Way Phoenix AZ 85044.
Thank you again for your concern, prayers and help walking with us in Guadalupe. We pray God continues to bless you all richly this 2021.
